Please Help.... Car is hard to start and won't stay running.

Hi everyone, I've searched and searched everywhere to see if I could fix this, my car is hard to start up and I have to give it gas to keep it running once it does start running. We have checked eery sensor and my fuel pressure too. The car will run without the MAS but when I plug it in it dies within a few seconds, my bov is recirculated to, and the mods I have are a 2 1/2" downpipe, a 3" exhaust with no cat, and an AEM fuel rail from the previous owner, please help! and thanks!




edit:it will not rev above 3k in neutral either.

It sounds like you have an air or vacuum leak man.

Clean your MAF and see if it works.
Looks like you have a bad MAF.
If it doesn't work after cleaning it.. Then Replace it.

I just cleaned my MAF but haven't put it back in my car because I don't have my turbo oil return line on it.

Well why do you think it won't rev above 3k, it still won't do that even without the MAF.

ECU is not getting signal from the MAF, That's why it is running like crap.
ECU needs signal from the MAF to know how much air is getting into the Pistons, so it can calculate how much Fuel needs to be delivered.

When a car can't rev. after 3K,,,,, Most of the time is a TPS (malfunction, or Not align property.)

MAF can do that too, when is OFF.

After fixing your MAF, If it continues, Then, Your TPS should be next to check.

Forgot to say, after replacing your MAF, You need to make sure there is no leaks at all. (BOOST LEAK TEST).

Yes It does...

When it Idles, The ECU try to work even with a bad Signal.
If you unplug the MAF, it will work as well, (BUT).. Because the MAF is sending a bad signal to the ECU it makes worst when Rev.

Thats because you need a new MAF. Mines did the same. Got one from the U Pull It for like $7 bucks. Runs 100% better.

I tried to get one from the pull a part but they didn't have any 1g eclipses.

Vacuum leak. Happened to me before. Especially indicated by the fact you can't rev above 3k. You are most likely experiencing rough idles and abnormal puttering from your motor. If not a leak then I'd look to your TPS, especially if your rpms are jumping constantly at an idle.

We'll my Rpms don't jump around much they idle really low and finally it dies.
