Hey guys it's me again I've got a lot more info here and i'm hoping and praying someone has seen this problem before. I thought it was a head gasket but i don't think it is anymore. Here is a quick break down

Car as NO power what so ever. When you rev the motor it revs very slow the motor has a hard time revving up. almost like it's under a load. this is when it's in park It will rev all the way up just has a hard time.

I dropped the oil zero antifreeze in the oil. Oil was clean.
It is leaking antifreeze out the water pump but thats going to get fixed but wouldn't effect this problem

The car does not smoke at all.

It starts up normal and runs fine motor sounds smooth. it's when you give it gas.

One thing i'm fixing tomorrow is they had the BOV venting out into the air. which i know messes some things up. like when i rev it up lets say 1/2 gas and let off it kicks and the motor dies.

I took it for one drive around the block. it builds boost you can feel when it starts boosting but the motor has zero power it will rev all the way up while driving but the car willl not pull hard at all the motor is all revved up and it feels like it should be jerking forward but almost no exeloration.

I'm really confused because if it was a head gasket it wouldn't run that well would it? other then the slow rev.

Almost feels like if you had a bad clutch in a car and when it revs up and boosts it just slips and zero power is getting to the wheels. well enough to pull the car along but nothing more. it's an auto though and goes into D and R just fine. and if it was tranny whats up with that strange rev problem it not wanting to rev up quick.

The cams are loud the wine a little but i was told this motor is kinda loud.

Sorry this was so long i just tried to tell you everything i could think of.
I hope someone can help i am really confused.

Also me and a friend reset the timing just in case that was off that didn't help.

My motor mounts are shot so I have to buy those.
Can you link me to somewhere that sells those?

Also I feel stupid asking.....Whats DSMLINK?

This car is an Auto Shhhhhh ;) haha So we'll see how well it takes to the new HP

If the tranny goes this winter i'll try the dreaded Manual swap. After all the motor work I'm not too scared of a tranny.

Here is my setup

15lb boost on the super 16G Hahn turbo
Turbo Back 2.5 exhuast
Going to get to get a K&N on the intake because i don't like the current filter.
FMIC 2.5 inch piping
Greaddy type RS BOV

This is all so far.
I need to pant this car really bad it's barney purple and the clean coat is coming off so it's patchy white all over. pretty ugly but i wanted go before show.

Also i'm going to part out my old 4G63 motor it's got 98K miles on it
Everything on this motor will be going on ebay so if anyone wants anything pre ebay PM me. once my motor is in and running i'll be parting out that motor.

Is there anything special i have to do to post parts on this page to sell? like a certin post count?

Hope this post doesn't break any rules. if it does mods please delete this post not the whole thread.

Hey, here a link to the mounts. http://store.summitracing.com/partd...907686+4294907063+4294924746+115&autoview=sku

Thats the same kit I put on 2 days ago, and I LOVE them.

DSMLink is a Logger/Tuning device all in one. Its far superior than other types of Tuning devices and the ones some say are better, most likly AEMEMS icosts a great amount of money extra, not to mention all the sensors you will need.

With DSMLink, You will need any 95 Eprom ECU ( thats most of the computer from the 95's) and you will have to order the package, then send your eprom out to get socketed, if you didnt buy a socketed one. WWW.DSMLINK.COM - all the info you will need on it there.

As for selling stuff, look up top of the site on this page and you will see classifides. You are listed as a proven member and should be allowd to place an add. GoodLuck

This car has a crazy amount of vac lines.
Anyone have some pics or a online manual for them?

I have a hayes manual but it doesn't show all the vac lines in great detail.
Can't beleive how many there are.
I know where most go but there are a couple i'm going to be playing guessing games with.

This isn't a huge hurry I have a week.
Just got me thinkin because i'm working on replacing some of the old dried out lines with new ones.

Im not sure, but I think www.Vfaq.com has the diagram.

Thanks dude.
Motor is being cleaned and inspected for shipment. Hopefully will be shipping tomorrow so it's here next friday.

Question.
Once i switch to a manual boost controller will i need to cap off the nipple thats on the turbo compressor that you normally plug the wastegate into or the little air loss there does not really matter?

Most people use that nipple to supply the boost signal to the manual boost controller. That's where my MBC is tapped. An alternative boost signal source is to tap the intake manifold. This is usually done by "T"ing off the BOV hose. Personally, I think it's better for my MBC to always be seeing boost pressure when it's being made so I use the compressor nipple. The boost signal from the intake manifold is lost when the throttle plate closes and the intake goes to vacuum instead of pressure. There are arguments for both methods. People who use the intake manifold as the boost signal say it is a more accurate indication of the pressure. If you choose to use the BOV hose for your boost signal you will cap the compressor nipple.

:D Motor is on it's way will be here friday. hopefully monday i'll be seeing boost :thumb:

Hey Trbo420a
these mounts http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Do they come inside of the motor mount bracket or do you have to shell out the oldones and put these new boots into them?
Auto zones motor mounts are killer expensive.
But there the whole mount including the metal part you bolt to the car and engine.
need to order these this afternoon.
Thanks

Hey, you have to insert them into the mounts them selves. It took me about 3 hours on the car ( On I mean motor still in and one at a time.) I imagine off would take about half the time if not less. It was very simple just cut the old one out ( or burn them ) and then the new ones just slip right in.

Awesome.
Thanks bro.
It's 67 bucks for those or 167 for all new ones for auto zone.
Did you replace the tranny ones too? or just the motor ones?

For a 2G you will get the tranny mount , the driver side motor mount and then the front and back smaller ones there are inserts...kinda like a molded, but better window weld. They get put in along with the stock mount.

Awesome.
So everything i need is in that link you sent me.
Thanks man.

Okay. Got the motor it will be finished today but man i'm just not lucky.
This motor is pretty different. the throttle body is in the front of the intake not that back.

The turbo looks bran new with no shaft play what so ever but what stinks is the compressor outline points straight up. like it had a WRX style intercooler on top of the motor. is this a 4G63 Evo engine or something? everything else looks good gonig to swap the throttle body and a couple other little things.
Just kinda bugged about that turbo it's going to be hard to pipe.
And i don't have a 3 bolt down pipe for that super 16G i have.
So i guess i'll have to make a rats nest of intercooler piping.

Your turbo is a TDO5 turbo and all you need is a j-pipe that many vendors sell to point the outlet straight down. All 14b, 16g, Evo3 16g look like that. Don't know what mean about the throttle body.

Would like a fleet farm or Lowes have piping like this of large plumbing piping doesn't work too well?
Thats the only kind of stores i have in town.

I saw the pic in the ebay add....it has a 1G J-pipe on it already. Did they give that to you? If so take it off and buy one. As for the piping what kit do you have? Post up some pics of everything so we can see if it will work. :thumb:

Sounds good.
I'll open up my IC and IC piping tonight and take pics it's still all closed up in the box

thanks again for all the help.

Hey got pictures taken but i forgot my camera. Brain fart this morning

tomorrow night i should have a ton to post.
Be warned everyone JDM motors are a nightmare to get working nothing lines up i've had to swap almost everything other then the block and head.

Quick question on vac lines
I'm hooking them up right now and under the battery theres a set of lines theres a thing smaller then a coffee can that has two nipples on the top of it if i'm looking down from the passangers side the left nipple has a line going down to a small white plastic thing which then goes off to the intake. on that coffe can the right nipple has nothing hooked to it guessing the owers before took it off. where does that line go to?

Its the charcole canister and alot of people pull it out. Ill look it up later on and let you know what I find and yes get those pics up !

if i can pull it out that would be great. i'm amazed how many vac lines this car has.
if that gets pulled do i pull that white deal sitting below it that it's hooked to?
Picutres will be up soon.
For all the help you've given me i own you a 12 pack haha

Right. The nipple on the right side (closest to front of car) has nothing connected. It's a vent to atmosphere. There used to be a little cover clipped over it to help keep dirt out. That is the charcoal canister for the evaporative emissions system.
