believe me man, you can fill in alot of scratches and blemishes, just spray alot of light base coats then you can spray a couple heavy coats then finish it off with a few light coats.

My car has 10 coats on each panel and it came out cherry!

OMG dude your my new god!! i have such a tight budget on painting my car and the cheapest ive gotten it was 600 and that was with a buddy of mine. it looks like from the online ace store a can is around 8 dollars so i think no more than $110 to do this including prep!! Totally sweet job!!!

Home Depot has the cans in store for $5.99 each, but they seem to only carry the black spray version(at my store at least) If you have a home depot around you, you can go online and check if it is available in store.

Another tip, for anyone that is trying to paint their whole car and is purchasing these cans from home depot, buy as many cans as you possibly can. Sometimes HD gets extremely lazy and will not restock the cans for weeks at a time. Last time i went, i bought every single can they had on the shelf and i ended up going home with 10 cans or so :thumb:

this is True, also I used to work at Lowes, and know from experience that if you go there, Lowes price matches Home Depot and then also lowers it another 10%.

True, just have to bring some sort of proof or have customer service call the Home Depot to verify the price

Well when someone does the red let us know right away. There are a few people intersted in how the red turns out. I may do the blue gsx in the red to match my Gs-nowT. As the gs has almost perfect factory paint on it.

Why doesn't someone who wants to use the red plastidip buy a can of it and paint their wing... If it doesn't turn out good then just peel it off. IMO its worth it to spend the 7 bucks to test it out and to inform people for future use

just sent a email to plastidip concerning the performance of the white as compared to the results with the black plastidip people have been getting.

Hold onto your horses guys as soon as my red comes in the first thing ima do it start it and if u Google ace hardware outlet u can buy any color and its only 5 bucks a can

Ace hasnt been anywhere near me since lowes and home depot opened. And don't go by what they show online to what they have in the store. Carquest has every color online. in the store they didn't have anything. I had to order 6 cans to get it.

I saw the previous pictures and honestly it didn't look bad at all. Did you try spraying it on any parts of the car on the exterior? I would think the white would look great but i would need to see some better pictures of wheels or a wing painted with it.

Ace hardware outlet ships to your house..its not acehardware.com its acehardwareoutlet.com

The problem is any areas that were discolored the yellow was bleeding thru making it turn yellowish.

This picture was after the 5 very heavy coats with drying time between the yellow discoloring just bleed threw.

After I primed and painted it it now looks amazing and it still has the plasti dip rubber feel.

it filled all the blemishes really well. The issue with the bleed thru even happened on the hood where I was testing it to track when the coats had tacked up. I really think that there isnt enough pigment in the paint. It was more a thick clear than a white.

im going to use it to spray the wheel well area and see if it makes any difference.

how many coats did you do with the black and how many cans did you end up going thru 95EagleT

How many cans have you used so far? I was thinking it could have been a bad can but if you are getting the same results with every can i would call them up and let them know.

I went thru 4 cans and the last 2 were the same when I tested them.

its definitely not a bad can unless the whole batch is bad.

I bought 10 cans all together, I still have a full one left and I used one on interior parts. So I used 8 on the car. I put about 6 coats on the whole car, except for the deck lid and spoiler. I'm waiting for a new hatch to install, including the high spoiler, I'm sure I will spend a can on those parts, so.......about 9 cans should do it. The op used 10 and I could see my self using 10 to do it right.

While doing this over the past few weeks, I have noticed that it looks really good after a few days. Although I have seen a few cracks in the rubber. Anyone else notice this??

i should have plenty then because i bought 12 red and 8 black for my 1g im going to do black top so ill just do like 12 coats for the black and about 10 coats of red and call it good

I had a few small cracks appear where water trapped in corners after blowing it all off with the air nozzle.

I just let it all dry and lightly scuffed it with a sink sponge with the scrubber part, used a wax and grease remover then re coated it. looked perfect.
