Has anyone used plastidip for a 2g hood? If so have any pictures? And how many coats did you spray on?

What else have you plastidipped?

For those of you who don't know what plastidip is, its some kind of easily removable latex spray paint.

Why are you just painting the hood?

Just seeing if it would look good, rather spend 20$ and paint it black than get a 400$ paint job just for the hood

I also have the glossifer so its going to have a glossy finish instead of a matte black

I searched it and found it, but i kind of didn't want to revive a two year old post. Plus still didn't answer about how many coats to put :\

You have to get gloss black And gloss clear. It's possible for a rattle can job to turn out well, but it's hard. The only way I have got it to work was by wet sanding and polishing the base before the clear, then repeat after clear coat. It's time consuming and not worth the effort.

Thats the cool thing about plastidip, it gives it a smooth matte finish that stands up to everyday living pretty well. And if i don't like it i can ripp it off They have a product called glossifer that adds the wet finish. From the videos, you don't need that much prep work

I guess i can start at 3 and add if i need to. I'm curious to see how the glossifer will make it look. I can post pictures of it tomorrow when i get it done.

Tired of looking at my atrocious faded hood..

I thought plastidip was a brand of spray paint .. Am I wrong?

I plastidipped a Jeep, 2/3 coats on a well cleaned surface is whats recommended. Be warned that because it is vinyl it does have a tendency to pick up those dandelion puff things, just powerwash it every once in a while and you should be good.
