I never think about exhausts because I hate loud. But being a monster every now and then is ok, especially if its during monster power... So I got to thinking... Stock exhaust w/ cutout. Where would it go? the cat duh. so i could swap it out if i had to. That means I HAVE to swap for emissions though (if i dont historic register) and for only ~$70 more i could have a 3inch DP instead of a test pipe... hmmmm
So Heres My Final Design (with my setup so far):
Stock minifold (get it, MINIfold hahahahahah)
to stock o2 housing
to 3in megan racing DP with y-split and E-cutout with turndown
to factory cat + exhaust.
no farty stinky car either.
Now for my questions (current mods/goals at bottom):
1) O2 HOUSING- I assume the 3in DP will match the o2 housing. Will this be sufficient for my future goals? Do they make bigger o2 housings to accomodate "bigger" 3in DPs or are all 3in DP the same pretty much?
2) CUTOUT WHERE - where should the cutout go? Pre-flex pipe (you know the braided wire part) or after it? Should it matter performance wise since it obviousley has to be after the bend from the o2 housing. Im leaning towards before, but i want room for my wideband 02... so maybe after?
3) My INNOVATE WB o2. I figure since im fabbing stuff up... Might as well put the WB where it belongs, so maybe it will last longer in a DD. 3ft downstream of the turbo is ideal right? how far in front of the cut out? I dont want the atmosphere oxygen messing with my readings. I guess this sort of ties into #2.
4) any room for improvement? I want this taken care of now before I start buying stuff and cutting/welding/cursing.
5) The CAT. Im sure i will have a fun time getting this to match my cat... get it reduced to 2.25" and flanged?
Heres on what i plan on getting:
Quick Time Performance QTEC30 - Quick Time Performance Electric Exhaust Cutouts - Overview - SummitRacing.com
Quick Time Performance 10300 - Quick Time Performance Exhaust Cutouts - Overview - SummitRacing.com
EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts
I want the stock system to stay in so i dont scare females away, and once they get in, I can floor it, and they will scream like in Death Proof, that tarentino flick.
My current setup has the free mods, wbo2, boost gauge, MBC.
My immediate goals will be to put in either a big 16g, or a fp green, and eventually a HX35 or 40. I want the 16g or FP sometime within a year. Bigger will probably be a lot later.
All supporting mods will be done first, this being one of the first. (ill have some fun with each step, maxing out the 14b)
