Ive already got a complete head, so I need to be sure Ive got everything I need for the bottom end and accessories.

6 Bolt Block
6 Bolt Crank
Eagle Rods
Ross 8.5:1 Pistons w/ Rings
ACL Main and Rod Bearings
6 Bolt Oil pan

Slowboys Balanse Shaft Eliminator Kit
Front platce/Oil Pump
Water Pump
1g Timing Belt Kit

Topline Complete Gasket Set
Mitsubishi Metal Head Gasket

Anything Else Im forgetting? What about oil squirters?
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

If it's a 4G63-T block it should have a set of oil squirters, reuse those ...

reuse your old oil squirters. soak them in a solvent such as ATF (auto trans fluid) to break up any oil deposits or sludge build up. I also recommend some assembly lube for putting everything together, unless you are having someone else do the work. ARP head studs would be nice as well and make sure you replace your knock sensor while you're at it. Also, you may as well order a new oil pick-up/screen since you are replacing everything, but that is just my .02

Ok, Ive figured out what freeze plugs are now, but should I change them if they dont need to be? How can I tell if they need to be changed?

Thanks chris, Ill order that a new oil pickup and screen when I order the rest of the parts I need.

Thanks for the help guys.

Nope- Ive got ARP head and main studs :)

So.. general consensus says I have a list of everything I need? If so, Ill order up all the stuff I dont already have and bring the block to the machine shop.

Thanks for your time guys.

have you thought about replacing the lifters? if im not mistaken, the lifters made after the 6 bolt have a larger bore. might want to research it while you got it apart.

You are mistaken. The 95-97 lifters are just as junky as the 6bolts.

so i guess then that the lifters made after the 6 bolts are better, then i wouldnt be mistaken, huh?........just not all of them. so like i said before, with a little research, you can get the better lifters. that is, the ones with the larger bore. maybe mirage2lTurbo can tell us exactly which ones that ARE better, instead of just saying which ones are junky. 98&up maybe?

Your talking about the 3rd revision lifters. No not out of the 3g eclipse, but mitsubishi's 3rd resolution to there 2 previous srew ups on the last lifter revisions. These new lifters have a very large bore and will not tap on startup like all the stock lifters in 90-99.

What cars this motor going into? You know it wont bolt up in a 97 NT right?

Oh shit, it wont?

Yeah, I know. Its going in a 2g awd, if/when I can ever find one...

What should I do about end caps? I dont have any with my crank, and I dont feel like spending $500 for slowboys.

Thanks again.
