Anyone know a good source I can buy a 1/2" thick steel flange to match a TD05 turbo inlet? For custom engine exhaust manifold build, based on the mitsubishi turbos?
I'm also going to need the flange to match a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 1000 4-port cylinder head, hehe that one may be harder to source for me/need to custom cut out or machine.

I have a 13G off a automatic 1G DSM to use on my GSXR project (going in a car), is that a TD04 flange or TD05? Can the TD04 turbos bolt up to the TD05 flange no problem? (I would think so if that 13G is a TD04, with the stock DSM manifolds..)

the tdo4 13g has a 1.5'' inlet while the tdo5 housings are like 2", so no. you could always cut the flange off a 1g auto manifold. its cast steel so it can be welded.
should be able to just use the stock or aftermarket header, collected into a 2 inch pipe. heres an idea. get the exact i.d. of the 13g, and use a pipe pushed down into the hole, and use a bracket to bolt to the turbo flange. should be fairly simple actually, considering all dsm turbos have a step on the inside of the turbine housing

I actually did this already! I built a custom turbo kit on a 1.5L Mitsubishi Mirage engine, and I used this 13G turbo! I used angle grinder with cut-off wheel, and with a LOT of work I cut off the 'flange' from a stock exhaust manifold and had a special welder weld it for me to another 1.5 N/A manifold I had cut up. (I believe he used a ARC welder with special stick for welding cast iron/steel)

But for this build, I'd sooner weld to a flange like that eBay link, thanks.

That's what I was asking, even though the TD04 flange uses a smaller diameter pipe, doesn't the 4-hole bolt pattern match up the same? So even though a TD05 manifold has a bigger 2" hole, it will bolt to a TD04 turbo (maybe with the TD05 2" gasket).
That would be cool, because if I ever decide the 13G is too small for my setup, I could upgrade to a TD05 14b turbo with no other modifications for the most part?

maybe 6psi 210HP (stock 165hp), that's why I thought the 13G was a good turbo choice..

id say a 13g would be more than plenty on that engine. one thing you have to take into account is when going from a 2" hole to a 1.5" hole, youll have to do some porting to that turbo to make it work. otherwise itll be like your exhaust gases hitting a brick wall. but however you wanna do it man. surprised youre not going with a busa engine instead, though, for a car. but I like it. its always been something I wanted to do with a seriously lightened Miata frame, or something of that nature

I just got a deal on the engine, so I've already got it, 06-07 style, and it makes 165HP stock! I know the busa is slightly bigger and everyone's automatic choice, but especially if you are going boosted it narrows the gap between the two engines even more.

That is a Fiat X1/9 car, and it is using that SAME GSXR 1000 motor! And from the sounds of it, not even turbo, probably just 170HP at the engine.
Oh, I didn't mention that was the car, an X1/9. I actually have two of those cars right now, a '79 and an '86 Bertone X1/9!
The '79 is the body I intend to use for my sportbike-engine build.
