This is an on going problem with a friend's car. Regardless of rpm boost throttle knock is at 43 counts while cruising. When holding the throttle while revving at a certain rpm it will not read knock but it will read knock while revving up and down normally. I don't hear any audible knock, he has a stock exhaust so it's easy to hear engine noises.

Things tried:

New head (noisy lifters though)
Base timing set to 5 deg
Seafoam
New plugs properly gapped
loose motor mount fixed
cleaned stock intercooler
New knock sensor (not too tight or loose)

It's not much tried but any opinions would help...

What are some things that you guys have heard of causing pk?

One more thing is the normal test of cruising with throttle letting off then florring it does not get rid of his knock...Possibly real in that case?

I was thinking 3g lifters as well. When holding the rpms steady the knock goes away, would this not be the case if the lifters were the problem?

PK cure?

DSMlink.

Before DSMlink I had bad PK and tried everything. When I upgraded my turbo setup it magically disappeared. Maybe a coincidence unless something related to the turbo/exhaust area was causing a noise being picked up by the knock sensor.
