The Performance Import Trends 9700 boost controller is a nice unit, overall similiar to alot of other ebc's out there. It does feature integrated turbo timer (with auto and manual timer settings), and can trigger 2 additional circuits (nos etc). And has a built in pressure sensor so functions as an accurate gauge.
Installation: Pretty straight forward for the main boost control unit and gauge, the additional features requires wiring in spdt relays but are triggered by the control unit from there respective harnesses.
For the gauge/monitor vac line i plummed in right off of the intake manifold with a y adapter on the line that hits the fpr/sensor. I ran this line through the steering boot at the same time running the two wires for the boost control solenoid from the control unit.
For the boost control solenoid, I installed the included fittings on ports 2 and 3, leaving 1 open as my setup is a single t25 turbo w/ internal wastegate. I mounted the unit near the stock BCS but replaced the lines and capped off the stock BCS leaving its harness plugged in (as not to set the MIL light). Attached the two wires from the new boost control solenoid to the leads I had ran out into the engine compartment earlier.
For settings this unit uses Start Boost (Psi), LoGain (%), HiGain (%), LoBoost (Psi), HiBoost (Psi), Warn (Psi), and Limit (%). Should you pass warn boost the unit flashes, display turns to red and cuts out the boost based on the % set for Limit.
My Initial Settings (Lo):
Start Boost: 7PSI
Gain: 20%
Low Boost: 10PSI
Warn: 15.5PSI
Limit: 85%
Drive tuning now to get optimal numbers, keeping in mind im running a stock T25, I do have air intake and exhaust however.
