I would of put this in the shortblock section but it won't let me. Anyway I have Manley pistons and rods I'm trying to install as I'm writing this. Only problem is the rings aren't marked and the directions don't tell you the difference between the top two rings. Has anyone installed Manley pistons before that can tell me the difference. One is all black and one is shiny on the outer edge. Both are beveled on the inside

One of the rings is a little wider than the other too

The oil rings are shiny too which makes lme lean towards the top ring being the wider and all black one. Anyone have any input I'm trying to put my motor back together tonight

the shiny edged one should be the top ring

to ffigure out what is top and what is 2nd ring
flip the ring around and slip it into the groove and see how it fits the piston should cover the whole ring...

look again for a top or a dot on the ring.....

if not. then call manley tech and ask them, have your part number handy
