Made a big mistake. While pulling my pistons out I noticed the rod caps weren't marked. To keep them straight, I used magic marker on the top of the piston.

Then pulled the pistons, reinstalled the rod caps on the rods. Then, without thinking I put the pistons in the part washer while I went to get my center punch to mark the rods and caps.

Unfortunatly by the time I got back, the magic marker was gone.

Now I know the rod caps are correct and I'm installing new bearings and rings. Anything I can do to make sure the engine is going to last.

Just a little worried since the pistons won't be going in their original holes.

Not polishing or turning the crank. Drug a penny across all journals, never left a trace. I'm going to plastigauge each rod when I put them in just to make sure everything is kosher.
