Right now im looking at these rods EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts teamed with these pistons EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts my other choice would be these rods EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts teamed with these pistons EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

Im going for 400 HP if not more in the future, i want to keep stock compression ratio and standard bore. Will these pairs work with all that? Any suggestions of other pairs?

Personnally i prefer the manley rods over the eagle rods anyday, all of them are forged and not cast so really either way would be good pick for the pistons but for rods go with the manley H beam

To tell you the truth you don't even need forged internals to hit your 400 HP goals. A stock 4G63T block will hold that HP just fine. The record is 712 AWHP on a stock block if I remember correctly.

I went with eagle rods and JE pistons and eagle rods streched on me so I went with Manley rods and havent had a problen since

i'm running eagle rods with CP 9.0 Compression 85.5mm Bore piston set and a complete race bearing set. all i ahve to say is with a 3 inch exhaust it sounds sick as hell also i can pull a hill in 5th gear at 85 mph at 3k rpm.

Those are pretty much the same thing. Buy whatever is cheapest or the brand you like the most. They'll both hold 400fwhp without breaking a sweat as long as you do the install correctly. Key words: install correctly. You're not going to deform the beam of an Eagle rod unless you do something wrong in the build, make more than 550awhp, experience a shitload of detonation or miss a shift at 9500rpm; and frankly it's way more likely to shatter than stretch at that point.

Unless there's something wrong with the engine in the car, I'd spend the money elsewhere. Dynojet 400 to the front wheels of your GST first, then worry about the shortblock. Stock 7 bolt rods aren't really a big liability until a little less than 450awhp.

I really like both set ups...but there is pros and cons on everything...i am looking at building my 420a, of course no more than 300 horses, but that's a lot sticking with N/A, but seem to be going back and forth between JE or Wiseco, because of their pros and cons with JE pistons banging up the inside of the cylinder and Wiseco's no holding up to their name...that's my thoughts...as well as their rods...not being all they can be....but that's just what i have read over the last few days on about 4 thousand different threads and forums...
Other people say that they have never had a problem with either....just wanted to change it up a bit....
so i guess go with what you think is a good deal and what your building..
