Hey guy's...I've been crossing a "90 awd 5spd tsi ecu with a 91 awd 5spd tsi ecu to see what the differances are and I think I found a goof up in this pin out.Can some one confirm this for me???

I've posted the link below to the 1993 pin out in question.

Notice pins 58,59 and 67,68
67-68 show that they are both B1 coils but I think they should be 67-B1, 68-B2

If it is printed wrong then as far as I can see there are only 2 wires that are different on the 1990 ecu compaired to the 91-94 ecu. They would be pin 6 Resistor (Maf) on the 1993 or Idle position switch 1990

And pin 14 closed throttle position switch 1993 or Air flow sensor active filter reset 1990

You are correct. Pin 6 & 14 are the only differences. Swapping those 2 pins will allow you to use the 1990 computer.

So some one made a mistake on that pin out, I'm surprised it wasn't caught and fixed or noted on the page sooner!??? LOL

It's probably gone uncorrected there because it really doesn't matter. By just looking at the throttle body, can you tell which pin goes to the A or B coil? No, but with the help of a multimeter you could have narrowed it down to being either the A or B coil. We do know that, on the '91+ cars, pin 1 of the ISC motor goes to ECU pin 58; pin 3 goes to ECU pin 59; pin 4 goes to ECU pin 68; and pin 6 goes to ECU pin 67. And that is all that matters.

Just did the wire swap and put my 90 ecu into my 91 Eagle Talon....Looks like I have 3 bad ecu's....Can a guy catch a break? LOL....Will be posting in the want adds for a ecu fyi ;)

what issue are you having? I doubt you have 3 ecus in a row that are bad, unless you have something going on that's blowing them when you plug it in. Bad IAC?

also do you have a 90 or 91? says you have a 90

Hey Thanks for the reply, I didn't realize I left this post hanging.

I have a 1990 and a 1991 EagleTalon awd tsi but can only post info on 1 car ;) The 91 is the one I have issues with...The ecu caps leaked, I fixed it but it still didn't work so I put in a 92 ecu that was rebuilt by someone else years ago and never used, it didn't work either....Long story short the 90 ecu did end up working after a lot of trouble shooting. The other 2 ecu's are toast.I know the IAC was good because none of the low saturation output drivers were burned up on the ecu's.
