Wow...and I thought my 1000w amp and my twin 10w3's were about all I could fit in this car...but I DO still have luggage space in the trunk.

larryd-ever think about the weight issue? those sub boxes are hella heavy.....i'd say maybe do a fiberglass enclosure in your spare tire well...like 1 12" sub or something like that. any big enclosure is gonna really slow you down...just a thought. but if you don't care...you could go ahead and seal your whole hatch in...throw in a couple 15's and be set, haha.

Hey New United,
I just removed the spare tire and tools along with everythign else in my hatch. Once done, the sheet metal and windshield washer reservoir make a perfect flat surface with the remainder of the hatch. I just built a box that took up as much of the interior of the trunk while still being able to fit it in (the hatch opening at the top is much smaller than down inside). Once I'd done that I took a rectangular piece of cardboard and added strips along the edges with tape until it fit perfectly flush with all edges in my hatch to serve as a top for the box. The top covers the whole horizontal area of the box...that's the idea. Unfortunately I tossed it and can't get you a pic. That piece had to be cut down the middle from front to back so that it could fit in the hatch...it went in as two pieces but fit so tightly that I just screwed them in and they work as one. After that it's just clean up and covering and you're good to go

I have a 90 tsi and got a quote from a local audio place for a setup like your looking for and they quoted me at about 600 for installation. Plus wiring, subs, amps. etc. a little much for my pocketbook!

i have a set up i will be show you pick soon it was 3000$ just for the kit i only paid 700 thue guy who had it made paid alot then crashed his car and sold it to me

you need to design a box that will go right into place with your trunk
I am in the same process as you
just draw up some ideas
but remember make sure your box is big enough. thats the hardest part
Cubic ft 99 gsx lookes like it was professionally done.
