Well I was able to make some progress on the setup I am putting together. Got a bunch of parts back from my buddy who was able to weld up a lot of stuff for me.

Check out the Holset #5 thread for other pics and more info, but here is my HX40 in a FP turbine housing, and flanged for a HKS GTII wastegate

He welded up a 3" Adel Wiggins ferrule on my 75mm FFTEC throttle body to go with my JMF Drag intake mani:

Also decided to do something a little different, picked up some 1.5" Wiggins clamps that I will be using for my radiator hoses:

And the guy I bought the clamps from threw in a few .5" clamps for free, so I decided to put them to use. Here is my oil return line:

And I had him do a little work on a budget DD setup I am putting together. Right now I only have $300 into it, and that includes a B16g, EvoIII mani, HKS 40mm wastegate, SS o2 housing, j-pipe, and Injen intake. Here's a couple quick pics:

Looks to be a nice project. And also what a deal on the B16g, EvoIII mani, HKS 40mm wastegate, ects...

Nice. Curiously, where did you source the FP30 housing and how much did you pay? Did it fit right onto the HX40?

Everything looks awesome!

Thanks guys. I purchased the FP housing off of the Link forums used for $150. And it does not bolt right up, the HX40 wheel is much bigger, so I hadto send it out to be machined. That cost me another $150. But I am very happy with how it turned out, I can't wait to get everything bolted up.

im curious why you didnt just use the right wg for the FP housing? I think welding that other flange on there kind of looks ghetto.

Looks aside though, thats going to be a fun setup! Im interested in seeing what kind of spool and power numbers it puts down with that housing.

Don't worry about looks right now. The housing is already off to be ceramic coated silver.

And the reason why I am using the HKS wastegate as opposed to a 44mm Tial, is because I picked it up for $200 brand new (this usually sells for $800+). A Tial would cost ~$350, so I think it ended up working out pretty well.

subscribed!!!! This HX40 in a DSM-FP30 housing combo should yeild better results than the BEP bolt on housing (.55 a/r). Only thing beating this is a cheap t3 manifold to warrant the BEP t3 housing (.70 a/r)

If this option is less expensive than buying a t3 manifold and the bep t3 exhaust housing for a hx40......then Im all over it.

lets see some results!

lovin the wiggins clamps... i would do the same on my throttle body but they are so expensive. where did you find free .5 wiggins clamps? if you dont mind me asking

Just got my stuff back from my powdercoater, everything looks great! Here are some more pics of everything, along with some new parts :D

GSC S2 Cams
Eagle/Wiseco G4CS, but I believe I will be making some changes to it. Switching to some 156mm Magnus rods, still picking out some pistons (most likely 9.0:1 Ross), Eagle 100mm crank, and Kiggly girdle.

(Oh, and don't worry about the 1 random red Fidanza cam gear, I just left the other HKS one at home)

Oh yeah, forgot to answer that. But like you said, the person I bought the 1.5" clamps from said he had some .5" ones laying around, and he threw in 3 assemblies (clamp and 2 ferrules) for free.

And the AN fittings were purchased in a large lot on ebay about a year ago, about 50 pieces in all I think. They were parted from a drag car, and were anodized purple. I only paid $150 for the whole lot:cool:

Who'd you have weld the AN fittings on the vc. There's no tig welders I'd trust in my area.

love the Adel Wiggins clamps, I've found a dealer for those but am i right in thinking you need the aluminum weld Ferrules and o rings to go with them, any advice would be cool thanks Eric. :thumb:

Correct, when you purchase them through a dealer, the price they have listed is only for the clamp itself and the seal ring. The weld ferrules and o-rings are extra.

Love the Wiggins clamps, I welded AN-20 fitting on mine for the thermo housings. what are you doing for lines?
I am going with solid 1.5" lines, the great part about Wiggins clamps is that they allow for flexibility.

I also had Justin powdercoat some other stuff for me. I had him do my calipers for me in semigloss black. I am not just building this car as a drag car, I wanted to have a well built all around weekend warrior. So I decided to get some big brakes for it. I got the brackets for the 3kgt vr4/Cobra rotor setup a while back. I recently picked up some rotors, and got the Stealth calipers (no Mitsubishi logo on it, I have a Talon so I thought this would be better) so I could put some decals on them. I had a local whip up some decals for the calipers, and also for the 17" Kosei K1's I picked up(plan to have them powdercoated flat black). Anyways, the decals look awesome, here's what the Kosei decals look like:

Along with ARP extended wheel studs and some BLOX purple lugs for some bling

And a quick photoshop of what I want the wheels to look like:

Anyways, on to some real pics of my calipers and rotors:

The flash makes the decal look a little blue, but they look very good in person.
