Well I finally picked up a block today. It came with the 7 bolt crank which is in good condition. The guy even gave me the honing brush for free to do the cyclinder walls. Problem is I need to use my pistons and rods and bolts from my other block. What can I use to just shine them back up CLEAN but keeping standard size. Also one of the oil squirters is broken off in the block. Cant I just pull one of mine and use on the new block? Its just the neck of it. Im going standard new rings and bearings.
Also after the hone, can I pressure wash the entire block and then heat gun dry the whole thing without it rusting? I have never put pistons or rods in before, but Im hoping to have a full block within a days work, with the head and everything else bolted down.
Thanks guys for all your help
also what can I use to just clean up the old HG off the block? its not bad, but I dont want to leave it
