Car: 1994 Eagle Talon TSi, FWD, 5 speed

We had it picked up from 400km's away and dropped off, never seen or test drove it. ROFL We took it for a drive up the block it got stuck in 3rd, car stalled. Put it back in neutral started it up, got into the back, then it wouldn't go into gear.

Problem: Won't go into gear, but when jacked up with the passenger tire off the ground it will shift into all gears. But if you press the brake with the clutch pedal down, it just stalls. Let the jack down it doesn't go into gear and stalls when you press the brakes.

All help will be appreciated

I had a similar problem with my 92. Was an auto to manual swap. When I bought it the master and clutch line had been replaced already and the slave was leaking slightly so previous owner threw in a new slave for it.

Would grind when trying to engage any gear with pedal down and when reved in 1st would move forward and was difficult to disengage gears.

So I replaced slave and bleed clutch and adjusted the master with better results but same issue.

So I looked at save cylinder I removed compared to new one. Turned out there was an extended slave rod in the old slave cylinder. I swapped the rods and shifts beautifully now.

yes ... take the l as the transmission it bolts to d=drivers side p= pass side s=slave b=bolts go thru this..... way d s l b p but it can bolt up both ways d b l s p

This is part 2, if your not up to speed.

The little run down : changed slave , master , bled it like crazy .. I could only put it into gear while the pass side tire was in the air...Once it was in gear the tire would spin even with the clutch pressed to the floor . Withe the clutch to the floor if the break was pressed the car stalls out..

Pulled out the transmission almost new act 2600 & pressure plate. The bad ACT TOB..

I think the TOB is the problem. If i push the fork the same way that the slave does. the TOB seems to get stuck on the lip, i can put the fork back with ease but the TOB stays stuck on the lip

I will be getting another OEM TOB of course.
Is there anything else i should check for or look at, and how to test or check it.

inspect the fingers on the pressure plate.. almost new doesnt mean its perfect.. heck new could be junk too.. sounds like youve done almost everything.. i wouldnt think it would be TOB unless it was making noise or is noticably junk.. my bet is the pressure plate if the hydraulics work right.. or cracked fork

The tob was making noise , fork looks good not bent or cracked ..I will pull the pressure plate off tomorrow and check the rest of it ...The fingers on the pressure plate looks good to

yeah seams like you have it figured out really... did you happen to watch inside the bellhousing while someone pushed the clutch pedal to see whats going on?

No i had a hell of a time getting the inspection plate off ..
One other thing the drivers cv was totally messed up ...would that have something to do with it ? The tire would spin but not the shaft
