Ok, for the like the last 2 years I've been trying to get rid of a terrible phantom knock issue on my 93 GSX. I was always getting like 30-43 counts of knock at anything above a light throttle under load. I tried everything mentioned on this board to get rid of the phantom knock but nothing worked. It seems as though I've stumbled across the problem. It seems that the knock sensor was picking up a false knock from my ext. dumped O2 eliminator downpipe. I've got a 50 trim that has the divider cut out of the exhaust housing so exhaust was always coming out the ext. dump at light throttle and causing this false knock. I rigged up a plate over the external dump tube and took the car for a drive. To my surprize I would get no knock at light throttle and only like 2-3 counts at moderate throttle which is probably actually real knock. Anybody ever heard of someone else experiencing something like this?
