This is what Im doing to eliminate this dumb phantom knock problem.
Parts needed: 1 bosch spdt relay, 1 560k resistor from radio shack
part number 271-1116, one hobbs switch part number 701-1575 from
napa auto parts (it is adjutable pull out the rubber plug on the
back and adjust to your desired boost level with an allen wrench)
Various wires depending on where you are going to mount the relay
and the hobbs switch.
Wire up the relay as follows : pin 30 to ecu pin 9 on the large
connector (white wire on the knock sensor returning to the ecu), pin
86 ground, pin 85 12vdc input from the hobbs switch, pin 87a 560k
ohm resistor(make sure one end of the resistor is grounded), pin 87
to the real knock sensor. I am also installing an led light from
the hobbs switch to the dash to see when the hobbs is turning on at
and I can adjust accordingly. Im gonna set it at 2 lbs of boost to
try and eliminate part throttle knock and initial boost knock. Now
that I spent half the day figuring this whole scenario out Im gonna
go install it and see how it works. Wish me luck. Sean

Just so all of you dont start bashing me I have tried everything to get rid of phantom knock for over 5 months. This problem is old and it will be fixed by doing this. Ill post when Im done doing the install and test drive. Sean

Heres the deal: I got it installed just fine. The problem now is part throttle knock is reversed LOL. No part throttle knock and then as soon as the hobbs switch relays the real knock sensor 43 counts pegged. There has to be a way around this. The install looks so good. Anyone have any ideas??

Its next on my list of things to buy. Kyle Tarry is gonna burn me a chip. Seems to be the only thing that really solves this whole dilemna. Oh well, at least I have parts for a water injection system now! Sean

Personally, I think it's unwise. Your car knocks for a reason. There's nothing "phantom" about it. Find the actual problem and fix it other than masking it with all the band aids. Good luck to you though. My 2 cents. :thumb:

Done everything possible over past 5 months to fix it and nothing has worked. This included building a stroker motor and tossing the old motor. Ive replaced every mechanical and electronic part on this car and its still there. So in my case what would you do??
