so basically i am tight with cash and my suspension is completely shot. it bottoms out over every bump. so my question is first do springs go bad? second putting kyb shocks make a diffrence in handling? also having new shocks on stock spring, would it affect anything if later on i were to convert to newer lowering springs? thank you

To answer your first question... No, springs don't go bad, but you can have one break or start to sag. That however, is pretty rare.
For your second question... Yes, new shocks/struts will absolutely help you out regardless of the brand. I have KYB AGX's which are adjustable and I run them with stock springs and I love them. Soft setting has perfect street manners with better than stock performance. And when I go to the dragstrip I just switch to the hard setting and the car is PLANTED.:D No more nose in the sky upon launch.;) But, I know you're on a budget so just a standard KYB GR2 would most likely do just fine.
And for your third and final question... No, having the stock springs with new shocks/struts would not affect anything if you wanted to get different springs later. Just swap out the springs and you're good to go.:thumb:

New shocks, even if they are stock to replace your worn old ones (I imagine those are cheaper if you're really on a budget) will make a HUGE difference in the car's overall feel.

Just this last weekend I replaced the stock rear shocks & installed new Koni shocks with stock rear springs on my DSM (long story...I have Koni + coilovers with 500lb springs with RRE upper mounts in front) and the difference is night and day. The car takes an immediate set in corners without the confidence-sapping wallowiness of the stock shocks.

If you can, get the best shocks your budget allows. With a good set of shocks, you can always upgrade to lowering springs or even coilover setups in the future.
