Performance Packages

When reading this, please take into consideration that I'm not an expert nor am I a total newb when it comes to cars. I was looking around performance car parts website and this forum, and came upon a question. Now comes the question... Would I be expecting much of power increase of I decide to choose one of the following "Power Packages"?

I would either be choosing option #5 and getting an exhaust of my preference or going with option #6 and avoiding any extra hassles. Note that this would be my first performance upgrade on my car, and will plan to add other needed parts in the future. Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated .

I think you need to reconsider your choices first. The packages you chose are not to be done yet if your car is bone stock. Check out the Tuning Guide on this site first before you go buying any of those packages.

Your first upgrade should always be an aftermarket boost guage.

seriously though, start here and then move your way up the DSM modding ladder.

stock intake pipes can be modded for more flow, or new ones can be purchased.

cheap eBay filters do the same damn thing as KN does

MBC's can be bought/made for < 15 bucks

intercooler pipes can be made or bought

boost gauges can be had for <60 via autometer

the list of CHEAPER aftermarket parts goes on and on.. just spend some time doing searches and on the newbie section

also visit the tech articles and your friendly DSM bible

It'll cost more money for him to ship the car fom CA to NJ.

#6 cost almost 4k, you can do way better than that with 4k. Take your time and research more before you jump into it.

Thank's alot for the input guys, I really appreciate it. As you guys have said, I'll just have to look a bit more to find some cheaper aftermarket parts which will give the same performance.

just lurk around on the forums.. read, ask questions, search.. everything will become much clearer. dont start spending money until you have a decent grasp of the cars in general and what will work for your goals.
