Performance gains for ported 02 housing with external dump tube.

Not really any performance gains. The dump tube will help controll boost creep but wont cure it. I had my boost set at 15 when my car was completely stock except for a buschur o2 housing with dump. When i put on my 3" turboback my boost jumped to 24. I could never get it to stay at 15 after the exhaust unless I only put it to about 80% throttle. Now I dont have to worry about it though since I have an external wastegate with my 50 trim. And now the dump tube is welded shut. Waste of $285.

I'm also curious about this because I'm getting ready to put a new exhaust system on my car and just wondering if its worth doing and how loud the dump tube is is it street able or will i get annoyed with it /attract cop attention

IMO, external dumps are very loud. I wish I had went with a recirculated one. It's all preference though, I am sure some people here don't mind the noise.

I would try to find someone at Tuners who lives in your area and have them take you for a ride so you can decide for yourself.

Just think of your exaust dumpin in the engine bay...thats all it is. Just a lil smaller of a tube...

Some are loud, depends on the setup too. Look around for vids. Some of em are easy to hear it on.

An external dump is streetable. It will attract less cop attention then the green neon lights your car has in your avatar.

As said, it doesn't give you horsepower in a normal manner. It helps with boost control and building boost faster.

I had a punishment racing dumped o2 for 3 years. It's loud, but it sounds mean as hell. It scared a lot of honda's away, they didn't even want to try me after hearing it.

I know there's a video on youtube where you can see/hear what it sounds like. I would find it for you, but i'm at work and my firewall has youtube BLOCKED. They BLOCKED ebay too.........how ###.

Oh, the reason I said I had one, is because I just got rid of mine and went back to a ported 2G o2 housing, i finally got tired of it after 3 years.
