PCV catch cans - best design or set up?

What is the best way to add a PCV catch can to a 1G turbo? Are there sealed units that don't allow oil smell to waft through the engine bay? I see most of them have a breather filter on top, which I assume is to stop the can from being pressurized but this allows fumes to escape.

Any tips? Can anyone post pics of their set ups?
 
Now I don't know the BEST way, but I have a "catch can" on my PCV which is a inline moisture filter for an air compressor line $5 on ebay :cool: , so the air can go through but the liquids cant. Cheap and it works ;) You get quite a surprising amount of oil in there after a month or so.

I'll go take a picture of my setup tomorrow morning when it's light out, but if you go to pep boys(or any auto parts store, for that matter), there's a fuel filter that works perfectly. Just look and you'll see what I mean.
 
after having used honest catch cans on most of my other turbo cars, I started using the clear inline fuel filter on my DSM... it works surprizingly well. I'd recommend it above most others.
 
I used to use the inline fuel filter, replaced it when it got dirty.. found out this setup i have is MUCH nicer, and still dirt cheap if you dont have $ for a "GREDDY CATCH CAN" :rolleyes: I will try to get a pic.
The air compressor inline moisture remover thingy i'm talking about is much nicer, IMO
you just unscrew the container when its full and dump it out. Nothing to replace or deal with. Bigger fittings then a fuel filter too.
 
I leave the PCV hooked up like normal and just ran a hose off the crankcase vent to the ground. I did the fuel filter on the crankcase vent for a while and it was aPITA, it got clogged with oil to fast and seemed to cause me to burn more oil than i usually do.
 
I use the inline fuel filter with the clear case around just like the link shows. costs me a whole 3 dollars. works great plus i get to see the condition my oil is in LOL.
