Hey guys thought i'd post this up over here if anyone remembers my 2006 Evo IX RS.

I can officially say it's the QUICKEST & FASTEST MITSUBISHI in CA now! :hellyeah:

On top of all that i was able to do all 6 passes to get my NHRA license.

Made a total of 12 passes all day w/o a hiccup from the car just the driver's left foot/ rt hand :ohdamn: LOL

Also came out with the best 60' to date = 1.486

The car's weight with me in it = 3080lbs (i weigh in at 175lbs)

Still a bitmore left as it sits with a bit more rpm off the line (was leaving at 7000rpm) but i ran out of time at TNT making my very last and best pass at 3:57pm (TNT was 12-4pm)

Thanks Victor i will be sure to give you a heads up the next time we go out to the track :thumb:

11's shouldn't be a problem with your set-up :ninja:

Congrats on 9.8 and getting the license! As always, the car looks great and sounds killer!

So, what are your future goals?

:thumb:

ps-congrats on the 1.48 60' time as well....that's a good best 60' to have:)

Thanks Phil!

Not quite sure what's next though i'd like to think the set-up can go 9.65-9.70 as is but i can't help but envy those making more HP for next year so maybe a fully built head

Awesome Pat!!!!Look's like your getting it dialed.Nice job on the new best ET and 60 ft. as well as getting your NHRA license.Lookin good bro!!!!!

Thanks Phil!

Your welcome! If you thing you can run quicker as the car sits, I'd try that first before doing the head, but I know what you mean about more power....so you think you might want to head toward 8 second ET's?

Am I correct in seeing your mostly 1.6-1.7 sixty foots with a 1.5 and a 1.8? I'm not ragging, just trying to help but I think the car is working well seeing that your trap speeds are all within 2mph. I would spend some time getting it to be more consistent so that you can cut a 1.4 every time and sneak into the low 1.4's. I would not be adding power and would instead work on ways to get it all to the ground in first gear every time. I think if you do this you'll be running mid 9's which is where you want to be.

Its nice to see people putting the proper safety gear in their car and getting certified to run the times. Good job!

I would certainly like to hear more about what was involved in the process of getting the nhra liscense with a car that's right on the limit of 10.0 - 9.8

Glad to see you guys post up thanks!

I think you're right Phil i'm going to take it a bit slow over winter and just finish up a couple things i had planned and will wait on making more power as i don't care to have the extended down-time............I JUST WANT TO RACE :hellyeah:

Dan the reason you're seeing slower 60's is due to the fact that for the 6 licensing passes i had no need to beat the car up so those were half-ass launches.

I have tons of 1.5x slips as that was the norm on the QTP's and this was the first time dialing in the new suspension and tires (D2 c/o's and MT ET Drags) and so it seems i'm on to something!

The mph is down a bit but i have yet to look at the datalogs so there may be some much wanted HP left on the table w/ more boost and timing :sneaky:

I would certainly like to hear more about what was involved in the process of getting the nhra liscense with a car that's right on the limit of 10.0 - 9.8

Nate i'll gladly explain the process i went through over here in CA for anyone reading.

My main reason for the license is that we only have 2 local tracks and they are becoming more strict especially for the sanctioned events so even though the car does not always run a 9 sec pass they consider the 135+ mph to be enough to warrant an NHRA license :(

So after you have a car up to spec (mine is cert'd from our local NHRA official), have all the SFI spec safety gear (helmet, suit, gloves, shoes, neck collar, harness, window net, cut-off switch) then you need to have a physical done before you can go to the track and do your licensing passes.

http://www.nhra.com/contacts/forms/physical01.pdf

You then can d/l the application from the NHRA
http://www.nhra.com/contacts/forms/license_app.pdf

With all that you have to go to your track and have an NHRA track official there to witness the 6 passes and also give you a blind-fold test so that they can be assured that you know what to do in-case the car catches fire or you can't see out the windshield.

The explanation on the specs of the required passes are described in the link above for the application ;)

After you complete the necessary passes you then have to have 2 other licensed drivers sign-off on the passes after the track official does so.

You then take all the paper work and timeslips and mail them to the NHRA which requires a membership to the NHRA and they will mail you your license.

I've hear it's not the norm to have all the passes done in 1 day as you need a car that can run the #'s consistantly that's why i tried not to break anything on the first 3 licensing passes ;)

Some of the other racers there told me it took them sometimes up to a year to complete all the pases LOL.

Another good tip i got from a fellow racers was to be sure to photo copy all the paperwork and slips so that you have proof kinda like when you pay for your yearly vehicle reg.

That's about it it's all about $$$'$ so it really is paying to play but damn it feels good to not have to worry about the tech officials and now i can say "DRIVER FOR HIRE!" :D

By the way found another vid angle although it was not the 9.825 pass it's nice to hear where i can make improvements!
