Let me start off by saying my car did not come stock with power locks. I have a viper alarm and I don't have any clue which one it is or how to identify which one it is.

As with most viper alarms my doors autolock when you start the car up and unlock when you turn it off. None of the autolock features (Remote lock/unlock) are working on the passenger door.

I was wondering what I should look for first. Also where are the fuses commonly installed? It worked flawlessly then died out of nowhere, it never really stuck so I am going with a fuse being the most likely. I don't want to take the door panel off if I don't need to because it's always such a bi*** to get back on.

Thanks:thumb:

If everything else is working, then likely it's the lock statute behind the door panel.can you lock it manually? Sometimes the lock rid gets jammed up or broken also.

The manually locking the door works. I guess I'll have to take it apart over my next weekend.

before ripping it apart make sure the lock sees power at the connector. I had one where the wire in the door jam got pinched and it didnt get enough juice to actuate the lock.

So I just wanted to update this. I noticed last week that when I hit the lock I could hear the actuator moving inside the door.

It was nice outside for a change (55 degrees) so I thought I'd check it out. After getting the door paneling off I realized the actuator arm came off the locking mechanism. The stupid thing about this thing was that it was connected by a open ended weight type thing with no way to connect it.

After looking at the driver side door I realized the previous owner had used some kind of glue to hold it in place. Since I didn't really have anything like that I figured I tried cable ties. Some how... they actually worked!
