Somewhere in BC,
hey guys so heres another one of the minor problems i wanna fix on my 97 Eclipse Spyder gst, so i have bought this car about 5 years ago and never have been able to use the power locks when i press that lock button on the door panel i can hear a clicking noise near where the radio is installed in the dash but both doors dont knock always have to do it by hand it would be nice to have the power locks to work any ideas how to fix this??

Try looking into your power door lock relays, I believe there maybe two or three. One is behind the rear seats, the other is behind the radio dash, if there is another I cannont remember at this time. They look like this :

Power Door Lock Relay Chrysler Sebring (97-95) ry352

They should look like the image above although they are NOT THE ACTUAL PART # you need!!!!! I Repeat do not order that part as I was to lazy to actually find the number for you :p.

****UPDATE****
these wires attach to the lock cylinders the broken one was on the drivers side door hanging and the other was from the passanger side not connected within the door i guess its broken as well can this be why my power locks switch on my doors dont work when i press the lock unlock buttons?

I believe so. Also, if one of your actuators is dead then they won't work either. Had to do that replacement on the gst. Passenger side door was dead. Lots of cussing and cut up hands to fix that that little sucker.

Yeah that's not good haha there not much room in the doors How did you test to find out which one was dead?

It actually wasn't hard and I didn't have to do much testing. The passenger wouldn't lock at all, even manually. The actuator was getting hung up and would freeze. When I took the door panel off, if I tried to push on the rods, then they would just start to bend because the gear inside wasn't moving. I kind of hope that's not your problem, because as far as I know, they're only available from the dealer. I was able to get mine from the Chrysler dealer, and got ridiculously lucky because of a commercial discount. For any random person walking in off the street they're like $200-$400.

My locks on both doors lock manually perfect it's just the power locks don't work at all on both doors when I push the button on eighter door I hear something click by the radio but both locks don't work, I did buy some door actuator spares from an autowreker , but I founds those cables on the pic above one connected to the harness but no connected on the lock cylinder and the passanger side completely disconnected from the cylinder and harness

Well that could probably do it. I know the locks won't work without those attached...ask me how I know :p They're a sob to get on the cylinder in the door sometimes though, so prepare yourself for that. And just for grins and giggles, check all fuses under the hood and dash just to be sure. I know there's one or two that can mess with the door locks.

OK thanks for the info I have looked at all the fuses first and they look all good but as far as the switch on the cylinder goes your saying that if they are not connected to the actual cylinder the power lock bottons on the door wont work aswell?

Wow I really hope it's an easy fix where I don't have to rip out my custom stereo I took the backseats out and got a custom stereo installed now I dont have access to all my replays behind where the seats where and fuel pump and top motors are hidden by this custom install , I wish I could just have a sound system plus my air ride tank all fit in the truck
