I was attempting to swap a rotor and managed to break the caliper mount on the hub with the "bolt trick." I need a hub, but am having trouble figuring out which ones are compatible. I'm having some yards tell me that any FWD ABS hub will be compatible, others are telling me that the AWD hub is a different part number. (I have AWD W/ABS) Can anyone shed some light on this?

Is it possible the difference is only the ABS issue? I have ABS on a 1991 AWD which was supposed to not exist (so I thought) so maybe their systems are pulling up a non-abs part number....

Well, interesting bit of info. Almost every shop has different part numbers for AWD vs FWD. Mitsubishi also has different numbers. Chrysler has the same numbers and sais any 91-93 w/ABS is compatible. It's all a bit confusing, but it looks like I'll be picking up a FWD ABS hub and sticking it on. I'll post the results when I'm done so the next poor soul who snaps a hub in half knows what to buy.

I converted my galant to a 4 bolt rear and 5 lug.
The front hubs are from a fwd laser.

I managed to find a AWD hub closer to my house so I'm putting that on. This guy was insistent that it had to be AWD, but he said it was because he sold the hub, bearing and spindel. Is the spindel different maybe, or are all these shop owners just idiots? He got pissy with me when I told him chrysler assured me the hubs were the same.

I'm much more inclined to believe you guys (having actually worked on these cars) than a guy at a shop, but they all seem to say the same thing.

Either way, I should have my car off it's damn stands and running again. That's if I can get the bolts off. Hopefully 24 hours of liquid wrench will have helped. Air tools would help more...
