Alright so Ive been trying to figure this out today, I need a new front passenger side wheel bearing and I have 2 used ones avalible, however when I put the hub arms in a vise and wiggle the hub it has a slight amount of play, now I know most of you will say its bad instantly but with nothing bolted in no axle etc in it, will the hub have a TINY amount of play? Both hubs have the same exact amount of play btw. The hub on my car moves when wiggling the wheel but there is absolutly no sound coming from the bearing itself which seems to be odd. So could these 2 hubs still be good? If not where could I possibly get a good one?

I replaced the bearings in my front hubs and afterword there was no play at all. This was on a FWD, I'm unsure if the bearings can be replaced in the AWD or not.

There shouldn't be any play in the wheel bearings. I personally wouldn't use those knuckles in their current condition. You don't actually replace the hub, you press it and the wheel bearing out. Then you install the hub into the new bearing in the knuckle. A seal goes on either side of the wheel bearing.

When I needed this job done I brought the knuckle , a wheel bearing , and the inner ,and outer seal (different sizes) to a trusted shop and had them do the press work since I didn't have the press. Most shops prefer you buy the part through them though and may not do the job unless you buy the parts through them.

so torque on the half shaft wouldn't have anything to do with wether the hub wobbles or not?

BTW nice looking blue talon "Auto RS T"

nope, it just shouldn't wobble period....i just changed mine about 3-4 weeks ago. and there was absolutely no play whatsoever. If you already have two knuckles id just take one of those and a new bearing to a shop and have a new bearing pressed in then swap it out! the bearing is about $40 ish one seal was $5 and the other was $10 and i would estimate it took me about 5-10 minutes in front of the press to change it over. Good luck!! I would imagine if you take it to a shop you will more than likely be charged for a half hour (if they do that) or an hour.
