Well I dont post much on here because I usually search and find my answers and i have been reading about charcoal canister removal. I think i'm gonna do it. But i want to make sure about all the parts i will need. its my understanding that i will only need a EGR block off plate. If i am not right, could someone please tell me what all i need.

I read a lot of posts and i dont think you are supposed to cap off that line, you are supposed to vent it i think hmm

Should I have capped off the line from the fuel tank?

Yes let it vent. The hardline from the fuel pump assembly that goes underneath the car into the engine bay leave it open. You can cut it off slightly after the point where the line comes through between the chassis and subframe.

so i read this and im curious on what the advantage of removing the charcoal canister is?? could someone explain please...

cleans up the engine bay. less vacuum lines etc. it really should be kept to improve fuel tank ventilation, but thats a big argument.

it is an emission device and is technically illegal to remove.

ill be keeping mine, just to ensure proper ventilation. after removing it on my truck (only piece i removed on the particular engine) and seeing significantly lower fuel economy, i re-installed it and fuel mileage returned.

as long as you never overfill the tank and fill the carbon/charcoal canister full of fuel, you wouldnt see a deficit from it, other than a a couple extra vacuum lines and a vacuum solenoid.

Only things are a cleaner intake manifold, less of a chance of a vacuum/boost leak and cleans up the engine bay, but most importantly it's one less thing to break.:rocks:

plus i don't want this my manifold to look like this OMG
