1G part out or sell as whole

i need some opinions. i have a 1990 plymouth laser rs. i rebuilt the engine in november... now i find out the compression is low. i start school in two months and i dont have the time or the money to fix it. motor was honed stock internals were balanced, it has arp main studs and rod bolts. acl race bearings , arp head studs, mls headgasket, new front case cover, new oil pump gears, bs elliminated, i have a bored throttle body from throttlebodies.com, vr speed fmic, act 2100 clucth and steet light flywheel, 90 eprom, dsmlink v3, aem wideband o2, full exhaust, big 16g turbo, fp manifold, wally 255 rewired and an apexi avcr thats not hooked up yet. i need to find the way thats going to give me the best return on my money so i can buy another car. should i part the car out (wich could take to long) or should i sell the car the way it sits and tell people about the low compression. thanks or your opinions

Where is your compression at? As far as selling the car vs selling parts., I would think you would be better off selling it as a whole. Consider the time you will spend pulling everything off and selling it here and there. How much of that money will you keep over the time it will take to sell everything? On top of that you wont be able to get near what you have in the parts back out of them. Unless you have a lot of people in your area with DSMs you would have to sell on ebay or similar sites which is going to cost you money.

I would part it out. You're not going to get a whole lot of money for a car that's not running good regardless of what else is on the car. And it normally doesn't take me too long to take stuff apart. Just set aside one day to work on the car all day. You'll get the majority of it apart. And the small things you can do as you have time or as they sale. I know there's quite a few parts there that I would be interested in!

And it depends a lot on what kind of shape the rest of the car is in. If it is decent miles and body, paint, and interior is in good shape you should still be able to get a decent price for it. And you could always take off the things like the wideband, dsmlink, eprom (obviously you would need another ecu to replace it with), and other things that it doesnt need to run.... sell those parts individually and sell the car as a whole. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

the body is in really good condition, no paint fade and straight body, just one dent in the back where a previous owner punched it, i bought the car with 102,xxx and it now has 110,xxx. the interior doesnt have much left. the heater core was bad and leaked alot of coolent so i replaced that and i had to throw out the carpet and i scraped out the sound stuff. its a nice light car

i only checked 2 cylinders one was 114 and the other was 118 it started raining after that and i was to pissed to care aout the rest ... i havnt driven it since i did the compression test but it seemed to be getting worse when i was driving it before i did the test. it was pushing more and more oil out of the oil pan gasket.
