1G Palm m515 data logger stay on longer?

So, I just bought a palm m515 data logger to try and retrieve CEL codes on my 90 talon. Problem,, the car is no longer throwing a code. I am going to have to drive the car with the logger plugged in and wait for it to dump me again,, and hope it throws a code. Second problem, The palm only stays on for 3 minutes! Does anybody know how to keep it turned on longer? 3 minutes is useless when I need it continuously waiting for my POS to act up and throw a code. Yes, I am burned out on this car. I needed a good daily driver, and ended up with another stupid project.

Yeah, I bought an Y cable from ebay and now I can charge the datalogger using USB while it is plugged in the ECU, so it stays on forever.

I have 2 m515 palms - one is with bad battery and it stays on for just several minutes. The other one is with good battery and stays on for 1-2 hours until it is drained so maybe you have a bad battery on yours.
