Palm IIIc Data Logger

Hi guys quick question. I bought my car with a data logger, so I am not aware of what all needs to be done to install. Here is my question, If I want to plug this into a friends car what do I need to do? Do I just simply plug it into his dlc connector and go? Becuase if I remember right you need to solder in a resistor somewhere right?

If you have the Palm running PalmOS3.5 or later with the datalogging software and cable you just plug the connector into the DLC and power if needed and start logging.
