Hey guys Im working on my 1ga, and im trying to get it to pass emissions with a tail pipe test since thats what my county requires. My question is what sensors do I need to pass? I put a new cat on, I have the charcol canister, EGR, the two sensors on the fire wall, and the sensor on the coolant elbow. Am I missing anything important to pass? From the diagram i have it looks like im missing a few.

When I bought my 90 it passed with flying colors without EGR and all other emissions. Exhaust was stock at the time. The years to follow Id do the "less then 5k" trick. ;)

Ok. I just put a new cat on so hopefully it passes... all i haver to do is pass once ;) I guess the inspection station you took yours to did not do a very good visual on your car. LOL

go to another county and get it done. in berks if u come here its just a visual regardless of what county u live in.

Make sure you get that cat good and hot before the test. Also do an oil change before you test.

why do an oil change?

are you sure? because according to my emissions teacher he said if you live in a county that needs a sniffer test it has to be performed.

Where did the "get the cat hot and oil change" come from???? Never heard of suck a thing for an emissions test:confused :hmm:

Oops, sorry guys.... I meant, never heard of SUCH a thing

i am a pa emiss inspector. i do them all day.. you can go to any county and get it done. doesnt have to be your own.

Had to do the sniffer in texas. By getting the cat hot (aka drive it hard) it help raise the flash temp of the cat burning off more nox and hydrocarbons the bad emissions gasses. New oil will help your engine burn cleaner from the lack of contaminate in the oil being recirculated through your pcv and egr system. Also run a tank with seafoam additive and disconnect you brake booster line and suck some seafoam through that port on the manifold through the intake to clean your cylinders and maifold. But make sure you dont get it in you brake booster or the check valve in the booster line or it will destroy them. Sucking that stuff though the vacuum line will create hella white smoke so dont be alarmed its just doing its job.

I know you can go to any county to get it done, but they have to do the test that your county needs. Example, if I take my car to pottsville (no emissions needed) they would still have to put an emissions sticker on my car, because I live in an emissions county.

no the county u go to does their test , not the one your county would get. ppl from phila come to berks all time so no dyno test. if u came to berks u just get gas cap and a visual
