p/s and a/c belt

the other day i managed to snap my alt. belt making my other belt jump, now the question is i went to auto zone and got new belts and they offered a belt just for power steering. question is although my car has air can i use just a p/s belt and completely by pass the a/c pully? and if any what negativesor possitives would come of this other then lack of a/c? thanks for your help and if you can find any topics pre dated about this topic please point them out id like to see em but i rendered none on my search. thanks

I removed my AC. If you can live without it, get rid of it. Here are the Pros
1. You remove about 34lbs. out of your car
2. One less parasitic load on your engine.
3. Removing the AC condensor frees up TONS of air to the radiator
4. Cleans up the hose mess by the passanger headlight
5. Opens up the engine bay a lot, especially if you have headers.

Cons
1. Girlfriend won't ride in car anymore, cause her hair goes flat
2. Girlfriend complains about it being too hot when not moving
3. Girlfriend complains about it being too windy while moving.

If your single (like me there is no cons! Deffinatly worth doing! But beware. Once you start stripping your car, you won't stop until you have every piece of additional weight off your car. I know from experience!
