The DSM gods blessed me with yet another problem today. My car is overheating pretty quickly and stalls out when coming to a stop. the overflow is full of hot water/coolant and steaming like a bi***. I also noticed that the fan wasnt turning on so I hotwired one of them to the battery to see if it was just the fan but it heated up just as fast. I had the dash out last weekend to install a carbon fiber vent cover/guage mount and now I have no heater at all (I may have just missed a plug). Mods include a JDM engine swap, FMIC, 510's, 3" turbo-back exhaust and a shitty AFC tune. I searched but can't seem to find anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm starting to miss my Honda.

Have you checked your tstat to make sure its working properly? It can be stuck open not allowing the coolant to cool down properly. Also are you getting boiling in the overflow? If so do a compression test to see how the headgasket is doing.

You said a bad tune? Do you have a wideband? You could possibly be running extremely lean. Your tstat is definetly a place to check though. You didn't leave any rags or anything clogging a coolant passage? Make a checklist and go through your coolant system. CHECK THAT WIDEBAND!!!

What temp stat are you running? You said it still heated up just as fast with the fan on. Are you using one fan or two? Also what type of air flow is going to your radiator and front mount? Do you still have your ac condensor in? That can restrict a lot of air flow. Another big cause to overheating could be that you have an air pocket in your cooling system. To check for this slightly loosen your rad cap or just take it off and let your engine warm up until it get's to it's normal op temp or until the fan turns on. This will ensure that there are not air bubbles in your system. One little bubble can get super hot and thus cause your engine to heat rapidly. This could be a start to try and get her running correctly. :thumb:

Check your vacuum hoses make sure you didn't pop one off. That too will cause your car to rough idle and over heat also the throttle body gaskets may leak if you have had it off lately and did not replace the gasket.

Yes it was boiling, but My coolant and oil are still clean (not mixing) No, I don't have a wideband but I do have a data logger(waiting or seller to give me the software for it though). Would that help if I got the software? By bad tune I meant that the AFC settings I'm runnng are for 18 psi and I'm only running 14. The guy I bought the car from just used the same settings he used for his other 1g to get it running but I'm not running that much bost on a stock fuel pump. That would be rich not lean though. Also I only hard wired one fan. but neither of them are turning on on their own. Actually I only saw the passenger side fan work prior to all of this. I was planning on wiring them together so they both turn on anyway. I dont think it's a vaccum leak because it runs just fne if its not stopping or sitting. My dad picked up a thermostat while I was at work today so I'll put it in saturday when I'm off and see what happens. Could a bad thermostat cause my fan not to turn on? or the heater not to blow? Or the overflow resesevoir side of the cooling system to be hot? Would not having the heater plugged in cause the overheating?
