Alright, ive read plenty on threads and done many different things, and still i have an oil leak in the timing area. Noones threads have helped me solve my oil leak yet. And i hope ill get some help if i post what my problem is. So far ive put rtv on every bolt i could think of. All new gaskets and seals (cams, oil pump seals, oil filter housing gasket, etc...). I still have the balance shaft. I even went through 2 sets of gaskets and seals on the oil pump assembly alone to double check. Torqued everything down. I took off the cover and ran the car up and down the driveway a few times, and oil WASNT leaking. If i let it idle, or rev it up while in neutral, theres no oil leaking either. The oil will ONLY leak after i drive the car. It makes it impossible to spot where its coming from because it splashes over everything...even with the dye. The only thing i forsure know, is that the oil runs down the oil filter housing when it leaks. Any help would be much appreciated.

the ones you have should be fine. im running stock seals. when u press the seal on (by hand), your going to want the seal to be even with the outer lip of where it goes. just use your thumb and go around the seal and make sure that its even with the lip. thats about as detailed as it can get LOL

LOL right.. so shouldnt use a giant socket to tap it in a ways..that is what i did previously... just make the oil sprocket seal and crank seal even with that lip and should i use rtv on the outer edges also? what about the cam seals should they just slide on with ease? should i use rtv on he outer edges of those also?

on those cam seals i have some at the dealer waiting for me they are 11 bucks peice kinda expensive bt in my case with a fresh built motor worth it. a 1 month baby coould slip the cam seals on. that easy and loose like it didnt seem right to me either. i think ill just grab the new cam seals and then rtv the SH** outta everything :D thank you very much mafia

yeah those cam shaft seals are crap from auto parts store! do not use them! the ones from the dealer are worth the money they fit nice and snug unlike the ones from orielys auto parts the grey seal with 3 ridges just crap and are not snug. i also took the oil sprocket off and it had oil inside of it. so im hoping th new seal i put in works. im asuming since the oil was on the inside of the gear that thats the problem. i had shoved the old seal too far in and think thats why it didnt seal. the crank seal looks good tho its kinda far in there was no oil on the inner sprocket so i assume that seal would be fine. ill keep you posted on what the outcome is on the seals and the tiny oil leak. thanks again for your input. :D

ok i waited 48 hours.. its really small leak now just barely on the edge of the t belt. i do think it is th oil pump sprocket. ill check it today and get back on here and let you know. the puley whole for the oil balance shaft is sealed no oil at all on that side of the front case. tho it could be leaking from the castle plug. anyone ever had this leak out of that and how tight should i make the castle plug all i can get is a long flat head to reach it.

i read back a little bit and you said the "lower timing belt adjuster bolt"? i have a balance shaft eliminator are you talking about the bolt that would have passed throught the tiny tension pully that is deleted. yes i put rtv on that no leaks from that side..

Another thing to watch for with the oil pump gear is blocking the drain hole on the bottom of the front case. This happens when installing the oil pan and putting to much RTV on, which blocks the drain. Oil will then leak out of the seal because it has no where to drain.

On the front balance side is the timing belt adjuster( the L shaped hydraulic part), that has 2 bolts, one on top, and one on bottom. the bottom one will need rtv. Also, i had the problem with the castled shaped plug too. make sure the seal is in there. I used a flat head and lightly tapped til it was tight. only because i didnt feel like throwing down some money for that tool LOL!

it was the F***ing castle plug or the oil filler plug on the front case whichever you choose. DO NOT USE FLAT HEAD TO TIGHTEN THIS!!! it ends up deforming the castle plug causing it to not seal properly!!!! i found a socket that was the same size for 5$ took the new castle plug in and found the perfect size so that i just had to mark and grind for each notch then grind off the 12 point ridges on the inner part of the socket. works like a champ. put new "O" ring in and new castle plug and oil stoped leaking. i used the dye and UV "black light" to find this leak it works really well.
