Other gauge brands, I'm sick of Autometer

After having Autometer brands for 2 years, I'm just kind of bored. What else is there? I know there's GReddy, Blitz, VDO, other cheap stuff.

I'm really interested in getting gauges that matche the factory gauges. I've found the Defi D-series, which seems like a perfect match, but $120 for a boost gauge is kind of ridiculous. Are there any other choices?

120 seems like a lot for a gauge, but you also have to keep in mind its an electronic gauge. You get better readings. I had an autometer boost and swapped it out for a Greddy electronic boost gauge and the difference is incredible. Im sure somebody will argue it, but the greddy gives me a different reading and seems more precise, while the autometer would kinda bounce up and down and not really know for sure. It was worth the money IMO.

I guess I'm more concerned as to how they match when illuminated then in daylight. I don't think Stewert Warners are amber.

And just an FYI, though Defi does make a lot of eletronic gauges, the D-series Boost is mechanical. Still $120.

I have Omori gauges. They are exellent quality and you can set them to whatever color backlight you want. Prob. more than it seems you want to spend though....

if you don't want to spend alot of money well then your options are autometer or cheap shit, sure autometers are not the best but they are great for the price. Now if you want to drop some coin if you can find them greddy silver face gauges match the stock gauges great at night.

Omori is kinda big in Japan, seems to me like alot of people go with blitz here, and defi is the bomb. I dont see autometer to much, but that is an american company. And if you think 120 is expensive my friend bought 4 blitz guages and had them installed for about $1200, more then i like to spend anyway. Cars may be cheap here but the aftermarket stuff cost alot. Let us know what you get, i plan on buying some soon.

I like my Faze gauges...but some people feel they are a little too ricey

I dont think that 120 is too pricey, id get something that you really like

I stand corrected.. I don't know where I read they were mechanical either. :p

Well for $120, then they're not so bad. Haven't heard of Omori, I'll have to look them up too. Thanks guys.

Not to resurrect a dead thread, but Defi D boost gauges ARE mechanical.

You probably read that on the Defi website, where is says in plain english that the boost gauge isn't electronic ;)

Defi D's = Win.

stay with a japanese gauge & pay the price, you won't be sorry.

autometer is :barf:

I am also looking for new brands rather than AutoMeter. To me the price does not bother me. I would rather have a real nice quality gauge setup. I am either going to go with a Greddy setup or Defi. Can't go wrong with that :thumb:

Oh and Stock.....Beautiful  I love how it all matches.

I would buy the defi's w/the red lighting, but i little to much. instead i bought the apexi EL II mechanical boost gauge . the numbers glow blue w/red neddle $110 shipped. the rest of the gauges are electrical and hookup like the defi gauges w/the control box and are daisy chained together. the apexi are still expensive but not as much as the defi.

Here's a list of gauges: Apexi, Autometer, Blitz, Defi, Omori, Stewart Warner, VDO, Greddy, SPW, Pivot, AC Autotechnic, and Ebay no-name.
Keep in mind that on most if not all the gauges you can rip out the led and put any color you want in.

Here are some gauges that are in your price range. They're all about $50.
