Opinions on my fog lights?

As to the op and painting the sub frame etc black you are missing a black plastic air diverting piece that would clean your bumper up. I can't find the part number or I would put it [here]. It's a cowl that goes behind the bumper cover blacking the area out. If your not gonna fill it with a FMIC this "mystery"piece would be the best look..

Car USED to have a front mount... but its been long gone ever since that motor blew.

Sorry guys, I meant to click on the thread entitled, "opinions on my fog lights."

And no one should ever by an Eclipse built after 1999. Absolutely terrible cars.

Do you mean a 3G Eclipse GTS? There's no such thing as a 3G GST :hmm:

Yes, I Thought I made that mistake that after I posted it.
I did mean the 3G GST.

Thank you for catching that, and clarifying.

Respectfully,

ohTONYoh,

Do you have any pictures you could provide us with the new front end?

Adhesion promoter is what i was thinking of for the skirts. Scrape every scrap of tape, road grime, and any other grossness off, wipe both pieces down (i think you use isopropyl alcohol, but i'll have to ask my husband to be sure), put adhesion promoter on both pieces, then lay down your 3 m tape, hold and let set and bam. Body shop quality work. The key is to make sure both surfaces are properly cleaned and prepped to get maximum stick. No fingerprints, dirt, dust, or any other trash. It's gotta be perfectly squeaky clean.

For performance, I'd tend to agree. But they do make decent cruisers. The interiors (and windows) are put together a lot more solidly, and they don't rattle, squeak, etc. every time you get a little bass over the stereo. Really solid.

The seats are really supportive, too.

IMO, the newest 4Gs with the black bumper look pretty good. before that, not so much.

The 3Gs just look too big. They're pretty small, but they look huge. Not bad, but too big.

The 1Gs have been growing on me. They still scream 80's too much for me to own one, but I won't knock on anybody for owning one, liking them, or complimenting the look.

I used to think the 2GB was the best looking Eclipse, but now I'm not so sure. It's still a sexy car, but the big grill opening and big rear bumper scream "look at me" in a similar way that body kits do. It's almost like Mitsubishi put a body kit on at the factory. That's all well and good (it is still stock), but it's just a bit loud.

Now that I've owned a 2GA Eclipse, it's really grown on me. Understated and civil, without loosing much of the flair. The bumper is less bulbous, the spoiler less flashy, and the front end more classic. Plus, I think the 2GA bumpers flow a bit better with the lines of the car.

I love the front lip for the 2GA bumper. I think it takes away from the big smile (if you dont have a FMIC)

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWYa30CTCBw[/ame] Heres a video of it when i was going to sell it. Im surprised that i actually do not have new photos of it with the 2ga headlights and twistys,Ill take some later.

Looks good. You should have drifted it! XD but is the check engine light on? Or is that something else? I just noticed a light on in the dash.

Ohh yeah it was LOL.. I think a day later i figured out what it was.

I was cruising and my down pipe disconnected from my header, So it sounded like a monster truck going full throttle. Went to a gas station and bolted it back together, Check engine light went off. Guess it was secondary 02 sensor.:thumb:

Nice. And on the side skirt thing, no isopropyl. Leaves residue. If you have an air compresser, there's a special buffer to take off gunk without damaging paint.

To remove the two way tape on the car use a eraser wheel. Take note of the warning labels. Don't exceed the rpm limit of the wheel and don't use to much force. And most of import safety glasses are a must.

Now with the part with two way tape on it. Remove what u can with a razor blade. Just take your time and dont cut into the part or your self. Now with most of it off u can put the General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner on it. The cleaner will soften what's left. Now using the razor blade hold it strait down to the remaining tape and pull the blade along the tensing tape. The result will result in a snotty looking stuff coming off.

Clean both surfaces again with the cleaner and a cloth shop towel.

Use addhesion promoter on the part. Apply the two way tape to the part leaving the protective covering on the side facing the body of the car. Now when you go to cut the tape cut one side longer. On the longer side pull back the protective covering back to the closest edge of the part then cut the excessive tape off. Repeat as needed till the part is ready to be applied. Now place the part were it needs to be. When placement is found while it is against the panel pull the tab that u made at a sharp angle.

Make sure the area of the part and panel are warm and the warmer the better.

U can use the eraser wheel in a corded or cordless drill.

If u are brave enough to use the the eraser wheel on plastic parts be forwornd that it does generate heat and will gouge the plastic very easily.

This all seems confusing. All of the double sided tape has been removed, but some of the gooey stuff still remains. I have a heatgun and the 3m tape. So i would need to use the promoter on both the skirt and the car?

That's what my husband does. He works in a body shop and I used to hang out and help prep for paint sometimes.

Everything's confusing when you try to explain. That's why I just have him show me. Hands on is always best. I can see if he can make a video demo for it next week. I'm sure one of the corrollas has some sort of moldings to put on.

get rid of them, invest in intercooler if turboed. They are just to much, way to think out side of the box though!
