Hey guys so I've been beating on my car too much and well my clutch is starting to slip. I found this clutch on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ECLI...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item563960570f it looks like a good deal and the guy has a 99.9% feedback. Let me know what you guys think about this. I know the saying "do right the first time", but money issues right now are tough. So I would really appreciate it if anyone that has experience with these clutches reply what their experience was like.

That price is seriously cheap; ~$80 cheaper than the next comparable clutch from South Bend at cost.

Would be interesting to see the overall quality, let alone what kind of power it can handle, as I wouldn't expect it to hold much over 200HP for long.

If you need a cheap clutch to get by, then go for it.

I have an XTD solid 6-puck that I got cheap on ebay and it's the best and most reliable clutch I've had. My last clutch was a sprung 6-puck Fidanza 4.3, and it broke within a couple thousand miles, and it slipped a time or two when I let the clutch out a bit slow after a shift. The clutch before that was in the car when I bought it (ACT PP, clutch unsure), and the clutch and pressure plate both broke and the shift quality was never that great.

The price doesn't seem to bad to me. If money's tight I wouldn't worry about how much power it would hold, I'd be more worried about it just getting me around. I've gotten clutch kits from the local autoparts store and they're great. They don't hold alot of power but for daily driving they're perfect. Plus those are only about 150 bucks, maybe less. Just another option.

I agree^^^ Ive had my XTD Stage 4 6 puck unsprung for about 1200 miles, and its still pulling strong, doesnt slip, and its not hard to drive either. For 190$ shipped
to my door, I would do it again. LOL

Christi will tell you about her experience with the cheapo clutch that came in her '97 GST.

Actually, let the pictures tell you:

The pressure plates may be OK, but I wouldn't wipe my ass with a cheap eBay disc.

If ebay will answer your tech questions and give you customer support then do it. If you want a product that you know will work and want the support to go with it buy from one of the sites sponsoring vendors. I don't know about you but I don't like pulling my trans any more than I have to.

Yea those sprung hub clutches are pretty bad on ebay. Ive heard good things about the unspung 6 pucks though

just throwing it out there, i had a custom clutch made by falcon on long island, Ive had clutches on 2 cars from him now without a problem, and the feel is amazing. pm me if you want more info and I'll give you his number

What if I went with a stock from the local auto parts store? I'm telling you this thing all of the sudden just started slipping bad, and sometimes it wont move!!! With all the driving I do, I have to change this soon. I was thinking of just buying a stock one tomorrow and try to pop it in before the snow hits on wednesday. After all this thing is still running on the stock clutch.
