Need opinion on ebay exhaust manifold

You might get it and like it for a week or month or so, But then it will start cracking. I can almost guarantee it. I've had some like that, seen friends with ones like that. That's what they do, is crack. Then you'll have to just pull it off again.

Ported 2G manifold for the win. (For price and performance in mind.)

Good luck, man.

I agree with the above post. For the extreme stress put on the metal by the extreme temps it sees, I would make sure that it was made out of high quality metal. Ebay vendors aren't always known for their high quality. I also agree with the above, port your exhaust manifold, or get an evo manifold.

Thanks to the 1st 2 posters and a half ass thanks to the 3rd poster.

They use 2.7mm stainless steal pipe. With supports welded on every runner and the turbo flange. Most cracking acours at the flanges as thats where the most stress is. Earlier models of these did not have supports, and tend to crack.. Mine hasn't cracked, and they're are pleanty of people running with them. If you want you get a couple extra supports welded on it for security.. Although a ported 2g or evo, will see you just about the same gains, it's all personal preference. I'd email them and ask them about there warranty, and maybe check into some other vendors as they say it takes 2-4 weeks for a warranty claim which is stupid.

L0L!

I 4th the above. If you do get a ported mani, make sure your turbo is gasket matched to the mani.

Hey FORMONTOYA, how's the rim situation? That check valve PCV setup working still?

I bought one of those manifold, and when I went to install it I would have had to remove my power steering (PITA) or relocate the wastegate to get it to fit. Not worth it esspecially if its gonna crack eventually. Buy a 2g cat for mitsu turbos or find a good cast one for anything else.

I've updated the progress of the rim situation recently.... http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234518
As it turns out the more I look at it, the more I find wrong. Since it also took out the front shocks I am more than likely jumping from the Tokico setup to a Koni setup after PMs back and forth between a couple of members.

The PCV/checkvalve project http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229338 has been on hold since the curbing fiasco. However, I do start the car every weekend and with the PCV valve in place along with the check valve the idle vacuum is where it should be (20inHg). But there has been no more actual running of the car.
