Clutch Opinion?

Hey guys, I'm having trouble shifting and I was wondering if all dsm's are known for having to rape the gear box to shift. Cause I've heard all eclipse's are like that. Plus my clutch is going bad anyway I can smell it while I'm driving, what is a good clutch upgrade for street? I was thinking act 2100.

The clutch doesn't have much of anything to do with how the transmission shifts. Mine is clunky too, as I've heard many others complaining of the same.

I bought an ACT2100, put it in, immediately took it back out and put in a CenterForce Dual Friction. the 2100 was way too stiff for my likings in normal street driving. The CenterForce Dual Friction is about as stiff feeling as the stock clutch, but it will hold up to 550 hp no problem. I have plenty of mods and lots of hp, and never had a single problem with the CenterForce. Cheaper than the 2100 too.

From what I've read on the ACT 2600's, I wouldn't go with an ACT. A lot of people will tell you otherwise, but I don't feel like taking the risk. I'm going to try out a Spec Stage III on my stock, daily driver. I've read good stuff on it, I hope it works out well. Good luck.

I've had centerforce, act 2600, and another 2600 with a sbr street disc ( which im using now ). Centerforce shifted like butter! The act 2600 was stiffer, but the act disc blew up, now im use the 2600 pressure plate w/ sbr street disc, shifts smooth enough for me, pedal pressure is little stiff, but I dont mind that. Friend had a Spec clutch in his zx2 and his disc blew up also. If you want everything to feel the same and upgrade go with the centerforce, but I perfer my act pp and sbr disc.
