I have an opinion question. I've been wondering about purchasing the Slowboy 420a long block motor, since an engine rebuild would go beyond the resources that I have (tools, room, time). I was just thinking, if I were to bring my current motor to someone to have them rebuild it, would it be more worth the money than me buying an already built motor?

By the way, this is a plan for the future. I don't have the money as of right now, I'm just trying to plan ahead.

I.M.O. it depends on how much you are being charged for the rebuild. I know crate motors run 1200 or more for most cars. (honestly not sure on price for dsms) But if you are low on cash and the rebuild saves 500 or so bucks then I would do the rebuild. If it is about the same price then I would buy new. :D
