Hey guys starting this a little late but better late then never. I bought my 2g earlier this year in february. I dont drive it in the winter because it my track car i guess you can say. When i got it it had pretty bad strut tower rust and the bay looked kinda ugly. I also noticed my axle seals were leaking pretty good so i decided to pull the motor and redo my engine bay.
Here is what i did now this is all done now and the car is put together. For now atleast. I redid the strut tower not the whole this i only cut out the bad area. And then i re painted it obviously.
I got my car put all together and drove it every now and then and now it is doing its dsm thing and broke again. I do not know what it is yet i think it may be a spun bearing but im not sure. I plan on doing big things this winter to it so stay tuned it will all be documented here

Heres the strut tower before

Great start! Gives me flashbacks to 8-9 years ago when I did the same! Your strut towers were still in somewhat decent shape, there are a lot that are 10x worse. How is the rest of the car rust-wise (rear wheel-well, radiator support, etc.)? Engine bay came out great. Car looks awesome.

Oh yea i have seen way worse strut rust just any rust on my own car is terrible ha ha. As far as the rest of the car goes underneath is pretty clean just some surface rust very little. And wheel wells are somewhat still there there a little gone but i have seen way worst. I plan on getting a new shell this winter that is completely rust free and then swap everything over. But thanks for the comment on the bay and car appreciate it a ton.
