Yea the paint was in pretty bad shape . The hood'd clear coat was wearing down on the edges of the hood and on some of the door panels, but the wax made it look damn near fresh from the factory again.

The front mitsu bumper doesnt have a clear coat on it, looks like the guy stripped it down and repainted it with a different slightly off shade of purple or amethyst, which kinda sucks. its probably the biggest eye sore on the car atm.

Otherwise it looks good! Purple is a good color for 2g's.

Yea, im not sure what I think of it yet.. But i think the end result from waxing is hard to deny . Im looking into that site for the paint match, hopefully i can get the front bumper more stable once i get the fmic in there and then re-paint.

Its funny because I bought a restorative headlamp kit, and it actually worked pretty well. Believe it or not when i first got the car the headlamps were so bad i could barely see anything when i looked inside them. but i'll give it another round one day when its cooler outside. Hand waxing a car in 95 degree temps isnt fun

Not sure if it's a 1g only thing, or thicker plastic thing..But brasso has worked great on a few different vehicles I have used it on.

Nothing like a great elbow greased shiny car. i've used turtle waxes ICE wash and polish and got alot of complements from that. might give that a try though. great job. did you claybar it as well?

Nah, kinda on a money crunch right now. Waiting for my financial aid check to come in before i can start throwing $$$ at the car. Needs a new tranny first and foremost, but ive done claybar before on my other car and was very satisfied with it. I just havent gotten to that point yet with this one.

What wax did you use? i can't find anything on the meguiars site about it, I just bought a tsi in the same color and the paint looks pretty gross, hoping to find something to bring it up to par until i can set money aside to get her repainted.

Very nice, waxing your own car gives you a little something extra. Way better feeling of accomplishment then taking it to a car wash and paying them to do it. Very nice, looks good bud.

I absolutely agree! Nothing like putting your own blood, sweat, and tears into your car to make it worth owning in my opinion.

I Used Meguiars cleaner wax. Comes in a little red tin with its own applicator, as it should since it costs damn near 20$. The thing ive learned about waxes, is you get what you pay for, so i'll shell out the 20$ no problem for a result like this
