Walmart carrys Air craft remover and alot of auto stores.

After all the sanding use a Air grinder at maz RPM with a wool buffing pad and loads of polish. You may want some thing alittle more watery then Mothers mag paste. After that a 5,000 rpm buff and touch it up with a rag & a dremel. AND BUY NEW GASKETS if you have any doubts about the old ones. RVT is ok but its not worth it.

Yes... it is very good stuff, and it's very strong stuff. Anyways, I got mine at Autozone here where I live in Asheville, NC. You can pretty much get it anywhere anymore though. As the earlier poster said Wal-Mart, most automotive supply stores, and specialty paint stores will generally carry the stuff.

would the AIRCRAFT STRIPPER work on the cam gears cover? i plan on polishing that too

Yeah... I actually live in ENKA-CANDLER so I'm probably only about 35 to 40 min from you if you live right near WCU. I may have to hit you up on some polishing on down the road, your work looks excellent. Anthony

last i knew that piece was plastic on the 4g63 you could have it chrome plated, or take it off to show those cam gears.

SPEEDY, sounds great. I'd love to work with you and your car, especially since you're so close.

To everyone else, that piece is definitely plastic... I've gotten several orders to polish it, so I looked at it... and no polishing can be done there.

Yea tru, ill probably just show off my big 4G63 cam gears and trash the cam gears cover :)

hey, i got a question, how do you keep the valve covers polished??? Cuz I polished my exhaust manifold heat shield and it turned colors and dulled up over time, is the valve cover gonna do the same thing??

The heat shield is down lower in the engine and exposed to much more heat and dirt than the valve cover, this causes it to lose the polish extremely fast. Valve covers will in fact lose the polish over a LONG period of time if left alone. But if you keep your valve cover clean and use a little Mothers Mag polish and a rag from time to time, it will stay good as new for years to come.

Yes... it is a spray, and I think the correct name for it is Aircraft Remover, and since you don't want to exert to much energy on walking around in the store. I would tend to think that it would be in the automotive section where the touch up paints and CRAP are. Or... you could go to your local parts store like Advance, Autozone, Pepboys, or any specialty auto paint store nd get it. Good luck!!

about the polishing fading? isnt there a high temp clear coat? or even a regular clear coat

Yes there is a high temp clear coat.. matter of fact i have a 500* one thats rarely used

Yes, there is a high temp clear coat... we have some at SM Polishing that we're playing with to get right before start offering clear coating as a service. It works really well as far as I can tell so far...

 What should i Know before taking off my valve cover? Will i have to buy new gaskets? any special tools? i know the gasket has to be put back on with a torque wrench.
and can it be done to a 420a valve cover? "A friend of mine wants to know, of course"

Usmarine,
There are not any special tools, but you will need a new gasket. Well, a new gasket is highly recommended I should say. This can definitely be done to a 420a. Let me know if you have any more questions.
