Only pushing 7-9 volts

After a long day of rallying my alternator belt started slipping so I sprayed some of that belt conditioner stuff on my belt. Yay it stopped the squeak but I think some got in my alternator. I stopped at a gas station and fueled up and went to start my car and it was like my battery was almost dead! I began driving and all my accessories shut off so I grabbed my datalogger and my battery was making 8.4 volts and the car started misfiring horribly at stop lights and would only pull 10 in/hg of vaccum. I'm assuming my alternaor is shot huh? Just making sure its not my ECU or something like that before I go blow $80 on an alternator. thx!

Sounds like an alternator dead.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm gunna pull it and have it tested. I found a reciept for my alt and it has a lifetime warranty. FTMFW!

I'll pull it on my next day off and have it tested.

you do not have to pull it off if you don't want to right now. Any advance or autozone can test it while its still connected to the car.

Well I'm 99% sure its dead because when running it's making 9 volts . Fuses have all been checked...
