okay, first off listen to this, i buy a 1992 eagle talon that has the 6 bolt in it. anyways i buy it from a guy who bought it from another guy who decided to put a 1992 awd misub eclipse turbo flywheel into my car anyways it appeared to work until one day when i started the car and my starter grinded. i though f&** need a new starter. then i brought it to the shop and they replaced the starter only to find out that the teeth that i had on my flywheel appeared grinded down. so i tell them to put a new flywheel. i buy the proper part for my car (the proper flywheel that is) and then they try to bolt it on this morning only to find out that my previous flywheel that they were taking off had an awd turbo flywheel that was off an eclipse and the amount of flywheel teeth that it had was 110 vs the one that was suppose to be on there that had 104. not to mention that there was an inch gap between my pressure plate and my flywheel that made my clutch disengage all the way at the ground. (so bad that if you would let off the brake, the car would roll) and then i was also informed that my clutch was wore out so i got a new clutch kit and flywheel kit thats made for my car. i guess the dude that bought it off the dude that i bought it from just thought any old flywheel would work. just to show that doing things the half ass way and getting away with it at first, will always bite you back in the boosemm!

That is so confusing. I appears to me that you have an awd flyweel on a fwd car. right? Awd flywheels are smaller than fwd flywheels. I did the same thing, I put an awd flywheel on a fwd car. The starter didnt even make contact with the flywheel.

It is confusing, I think he's saying that somehow someone put a totally different flywheel on the car with too many teeth? I guess, and it killed the starter and ground the teeth off the flywheel, and when he ordered a new flywheel to compare, he noticed the difference, at least that's what I'm getting out of the whole deal. Is that correct? Still wondering why I just HAD to read this !

fwd and awd clutches are the same. maybe the flywheel was not resurfaced when a clutch was added.
