OMG Did I just bend valves in my BRAND NEW ENGINE???

Brand new long block.I timed it out side of the car and spun it by hand, fine.Put it in the car try to start it.When I tried start it, it made a "rrr....rrrr....rrr...rrrr" noise like it was tryin to start but couldnt.So I figured it was the starter since it was old.Grabbed a new one of those and decided to check the timing.I took out the spark plugs and tried to line up tdc.I got one revolution on the crank down and on its second trip, I got resistence.It wont budge.Is it possible the timing maybe went off after the tensioner sat and I bent valves?I really hope not.I cant do a compression test with it like this so Im about to yank the head.

Yeah i actually started it today...I also forgot he put a 95 ecu in it so i also needed to swap the wires...Now heres a question...do I need to invert the cas via ecmlink as well? Or no since it is a 97?

Unless you have a '95/'96 CAS, you need to invert the CAS.
