Old style HKS SSQV bov?

Ok my friend wants to sell me his HKS ssqv bov, for $75 It's a few years old but still holds boost. I noticed it is a little bigger then the ones you buy new, but other then that it looks identical to one you would buy new. Do you think its worth the money for a used bov? I'm still useing the crappy 2g one. Does it matter if its bigger then the new ones on the market?

im no expert, but a little bigger shouldnt be a problem as long as you have a flange to put it on your car. besides anything is better that a 2g bov i hear.

I'm just worried if it could be a cheap knock off. Not a real HKS just a genaric one. Is there anything I should look for to tell if its the real deal?

if it's an hks, it'll have hks etched into it.
