I got a 91 talon auto.It would not move forward or back at first thought trans was gone but then we put it up on jacks and driveshaft was turning but bad noise from passenger side rear axle. Close ispection shows sheared off rear axle. So ok understand thats one reason car don't move. But now have both front wheels up in air and back wheels.
I go to turn the front wheels on my 90 talon and if you turn one front with both in air and back wheels in air with broken back axle only one front turns.
Now on my 91 talon awd with back wheels on ground and good axles when you turn one front wheel the other turns. Is this only cause the 90 talon has its back wheels up and broken axle or does this point to broken front axle or mabye pooched viscous coupling. The car was obviously badly abused before I got it to shear a back axle on a stock auto car. But anyway its my race car.
So if I put in that replacment back axle the car should at least be rwd?
And it that normal for both wheels to not turn when you turn one on the front with back ones up in air ?
